Judson & Cie is your gateway to the best opportunities in natural resource investments. We have unparalleled deal-flow in oil and gas and mining. We have a proven track record of identifying unrecognized value in natural resource assets and developing them to production.

The collapse of the natural resource equity market during the last fifteen years has created massive gaps in the value chain. Valuable oil and gas and mining assets that would have been developed in previous market cycles have not seen the light of day. This has created a backlog of undeveloped natural resource projects. These projects will become critical to world commodity supply. The most glaring discrepancies are in oil, copper and gold.

Right now the world is generally ignorant of the coming massive shortages of hydrocarbons and metals. While down-cycles in the commodity industry have always existed and created opportunity for contrarians and visionaries — the nature, duration and dysfunction of the present period has created once-in-a-century opportunities.

Through private companies we acquire assets. The private company issues stock on highly favourable terms to its first investors, and then later exchanges these shares at a premium into a public company controlled by us.

Record Resources Inc. (TSXV: REC)

Record Resources Inc. (TSXV: REC) is an E&P company advancing overlooked energy plays. The company is a carried partner in a newly formed consortium developing oil and gas projects in Central Gabon's Ngulu Block, a mature yet underexplored hydrocarbon base. Record also holds an interest in natural hydrogen exploration in Ontario, Canada.

Record Resources is an undervalued entry point into West African exploration and production. Fully carried by its partner through the Ngulu Block's initial four-year concession period, including the commitment to drill one well to total depth, makes it capital-efficient opportunity.

The Ngulu Block covers 1,214 square kilometres, roughly equivalent to 54 Gulf of Mexico blocks, in shallow offshore waters in central Gabon. The diversified portfolio of low-risk appraisal, development and exploration assets includes the existing Loba oil discovery well in 1976 that encountered 140 metres of gross pay (70 metres net pay), providing a low-risk appraisal and development opportunity with near-term oil production potential.

The Loba field complex could produce approximately 20,000 barrels of oil per day, generating cash flow to fund future exploration growth, based on analogous nearby fields. Additionally, the block contains 28 mapped exploration prospects, including the Lepidote Deep, Pompano Dentex Complex and Palomite Complex, all analogous to proven Gulf of Mexico play types.

Forest Gate Energy

Forest Gate Resources was founded in 1998 and taken public through an Initial Public Offering in 2003. The company raised and invested nearly $200 million for development projects. Throughout its history, Forest Gate was one of the top-traded companies on the TSX Venture Exchange, providing investors with above-average liquidity.

The team has used Forest Gate as a vehicle for capitalizing on opportunities. The company's original diamond properties, which helped grow the company to $50 million, were purchased for $50,000. Mr. Judson purchased the Caribou Mine effectively for nothing and increased its value to $250 million. Forest Gate's acquisitions in oil exploration and production were also made on extremely advantageous terms to shareholders.

Blue Note Mining

Spun out from Forest Gate in 2004, Blue Note raised C$140 million and resuscitated and operated the Caribou zinc-lead mine and Restigouche mine in New Brunswick, successfully executing a work-over of a highly challenging lead-zinc mining operation. The Caribou underground mine, 50 km west of Bathurst, and the Restigouche open-pit mine, another 30 km to the west, started producing ore after a decade-long hiatus.

Mining operations in 2007 posted net revenues of C$24.4 million. Milling operations commenced in July, and a total of 298,459 tonnes of ore were processed in 2007, producing 18,672 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 14,673 tonnes of lead concentrate.
